Frequently Asked Questions
Does Intersection track or store my GPS data?
No β only real-time vector movement is analyzed.
Why isn't the app using sound prompts?
Sound prompts would subconsciously condition the driver to only yield when hearing a "yield" prompt. If that would malfunction for any technical reason (connection issues, overheated phone, external traffic noise covering the prompt) the driver could potentially cross an intersection illegally β and dangerously.
How does the app know who has the right of way?
That is crowd sourced by you, the drivers.
What if a signal is submitted wrong?
Dispute it with just one tap. If confirmed, the map updates, your trust score improves.
Or worse, what if it is deliberately submitted wrong?
No one person or coordinated team can sabotage our signals. Our trust system and verification method are designed to inform drivers that they do have Right-of-Way only when that has been proven beyond doubt.
Why can't we also set Right-of-Way signals on a map tool?
That would be handy, but ultimately is deliberately unavailable to prevent both honest mistakes (memory is not entirely accurate) and massive sabotage (malicious intent).
Will this app remain free?
Intersection's service of giving signals on Right-of-Way and the Heading of Intersecting Vehicles is designed to make the streets safer. This is our mission and the reason why this service is and will remain free. That is a promise.
