Terms of Service

1. Introduction

Welcome to Intersection ("we," "our," or "us"). These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Intersection mobile application, Strabo desktop application, and related services (collectively, the "Service") operated by Dimitrios Daskaleas d/b/a FineApps.

By downloading, installing, or using our Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you disagree with any part of these terms, then you may not access the Service.

2. Description of Service

Intersection is a comprehensive traffic intelligence platform that includes:

2.1 Mobile Application

  • Real-time intersection signal overlays within 300 meters of intersections
  • Community-sourced traffic data and verification system
  • User ranking and trust scoring system
  • Educational tutorial and quiz system
  • Dispute resolution system for signal accuracy

2.2 Strabo Desktop Application

  • Community-driven global database expansion through country processing
  • Geographer recognition and ranking system
  • Country pioneer status and achievements
  • Cryptographically secured geographic data contribution
  • Integration with global traffic intelligence database

3. User Accounts and Registration

3.1 Account Creation

  • You must create an account using Google Sign-In to access the Service
  • Single unified account provides access to both mobile and desktop applications
  • You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account

3.2 Eligibility

  • You must be at least 18 years old to use this Service
  • For mobile application: You must possess a valid driver's license in your jurisdiction
  • For Strabo application: You must have basic computer skills to operate desktop software
  • You must comply with all local traffic laws and regulations

3.3 Account Responsibilities

  • You are responsible for all activities that occur under your account
  • You must provide accurate and complete information
  • You must notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account
  • Geographic contributions through Strabo are subject to the same trust standards as driving participation

4. User Conduct and Responsibilities

4.1 Acceptable Use

You agree to use the Service only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You agree NOT to:

  • Submit false or misleading signal information
  • Attempt to manipulate the trust scoring system
  • Use the mobile application while driving in a manner that violates traffic laws
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Service or servers
  • Use automated systems to access or interact with the Service
  • Attempt to reverse engineer, tamper with, or modify Strabo's cryptographic systems
  • Submit false geographic data or attempt to circumvent security measures

4.2 Safety Enforcement and Legal Cooperation

We reserve the right to report suspected criminal activity to appropriate authorities, including but not limited to:

  • Deliberate sabotage of traffic safety systems
  • Coordinated efforts to provide false traffic information that endangers public safety
  • Attempts to compromise geographic data integrity through Strabo
  • Activities that may cause harm to drivers or pedestrians

We may cooperate with law enforcement investigations when presented with valid legal process or when we believe such cooperation is necessary to protect public safety and prevent harm to our community.

4.3 Driving Safety

  • PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITY: You remain solely responsible for safe driving
  • The Service provides supplemental information only
  • Always obey official traffic signals and signs
  • Do not rely exclusively on our Service for traffic decisions
  • Use the Service only when it is safe and legal to do so

4.4 Geographic Data Contribution

When using Strabo, you agree that:

  • All geographic contributions are subject to cryptographic verification
  • You will not attempt to tamper with or modify source geographic data
  • Your contributions may be publicly attributed to you as a country pioneer
  • Geographer rankings and achievements become part of your permanent public profile
  • We may use aggregated, anonymized processing statistics for research and improvement

4.5 Community Data Contribution

By using the mobile application, you agree that:

  • Your real-time location vector may be analyzed to improve signal accuracy
  • Your votes and disputes contribute to the community verification system
  • Silent passage through intersections constitutes agreement with displayed signals
  • We may use aggregated, anonymized data for research and improvement

5. Trust and Ranking System

5.1 Unified Trust Scores

  • Single trust score applies across both mobile driving and geographic contributions
  • Trust scores are calculated based on community verification
  • Rankings progress from Observer to Authority based on contributions
  • Shadow bans may be applied for repeated false information submission
  • Trust multipliers affect the weight of your contributions in both systems

5.2 Geographer Recognition

  • Country pioneer status is permanently attributed to first successful country processors
  • Geographer rankings (Rank 1-5) based on total tiles processed across all countries
  • Public recognition includes country flags and achievement displays
  • Tile counts accumulate across all geographic contributions and updates

5.3 Dispute System

  • Users may dispute displayed signals through the mobile app
  • Five dispute points can reset any signal verification
  • Abuse of the dispute system may result in penalties
  • Our algorithm weighs disputes based on user trust scores
  • Geographic data disputes handled through cryptographic verification

6. Intellectual Property & Content

6.1 Platform Content

  • Geographic Data: We use OpenStreetMap data under Open Database License
  • Traffic Intelligence: Our algorithms and signal processing systems are proprietary
  • User Contributions: Signal verifications and geographic processing become part of community database
  • No Content Ownership Claims: We do not claim ownership of user-generated geographic contributions

6.2 IP Disclaimers for Third-Party Content

Intersection and its creators are NOT responsible for intellectual property violations related to user-generated content or third-party integrations:

  • User Liability: Users are solely responsible for compliance with all applicable laws and licenses
  • Geographic Data: Users contributing through Strabo must ensure compliance with data source licenses
  • No Platform Responsibility: We provide traffic intelligence tools only - we do not validate legal compliance of user actions
  • Third-Party Services: Integration with mapping services subject to their respective terms and licenses

7. Privacy and Data Collection

7.1 Location Data

  • We process real-time location data to provide intersection signals
  • Raw GPS coordinates are not stored, only analyzed for immediate signal delivery
  • Intersection interaction data may be retained for system improvement
  • We do not sell individual location data to third parties
  • Aggregated, anonymized data may be shared for research purposes

7.2 Geographic Contribution Data

  • Strabo processing statistics and geographer achievements are permanently stored
  • Country pioneer status and tile counts are publicly displayed
  • Geographic processing data is cryptographically signed and tamper-evident
  • We retain contribution history for verification and recognition purposes

7.3 Usage Data

  • We collect data about your interactions with signals and app usage
  • Strabo usage statistics help improve processing efficiency and user experience
  • This data helps improve accuracy and system performance

8. Service Availability and Modifications

8.1 Service Availability

  • We strive to maintain 99.9% uptime but cannot guarantee uninterrupted service
  • The Service may be temporarily unavailable for maintenance or updates
  • Strabo processing may require extended periods of computer resource usage
  • We are not liable for any disruption of service

8.2 Service Modifications

  • We reserve the right to modify or discontinue the Service at any time
  • We will provide reasonable notice of significant changes
  • Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of new terms
  • Geographer achievements and pioneer status are permanent and will be preserved

9. Disclaimers and Limitations of Liability

9.1 Service Disclaimer

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND. WE EXPRESSLY DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, OR STATUTORY.

9.2 Traffic Safety Disclaimer

  • CRITICAL: The Service provides supplemental information only
  • Always follow official traffic signals and signs
  • We are not responsible for traffic accidents or violations
  • Use your own judgment and obey all traffic laws

9.3 Geographic Data Disclaimer

  • Strabo processes OpenStreetMap data which may contain inaccuracies
  • We implement security measures but cannot guarantee 100% accuracy
  • Geographic contributions are community-driven and subject to verification
  • Users remain responsible for ensuring processing accuracy

9.4 Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO TRAFFIC ACCIDENTS, FINES, PERSONAL INJURY, OR DAMAGES RESULTING FROM GEOGRAPHIC DATA PROCESSING.

10. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

10.1 Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Greece, without regard to conflict of law principles.

10.2 Dispute Resolution

Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be resolved through binding arbitration in Greece, except that we may seek injunctive relief in any court of competent jurisdiction.

11. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify users of significant changes through the app or email. Your continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
